We’re thrilled to announce that the All Walks Founders, Debra Bourne, Caryn Franklin and Erin O’Connor have been nominated in the fashion category of The Hospital Club 100, an annual list of ‘innovators, visionaries and pioneers‘ in the media and creative industries.
Over the past 12 months we have spread our message of individuality and diversity to the fashion industry stars of the future through Diversity NOW!, our national student competition run in partnership with ARTSthread, i-D Magazine and Succeed Foundation. The avalanche of amazing entries we received from across the disciplines of design, illustration, journalism, photography and film have shown just how important diversity and individuality are to the next generation of fashion creatives, and that high fashion need not have any restrictions on age, size, shape, ethnicity, ability or gender.
We are now lecturing in colleges and universities up and down the country for Diversity NOW! 2014.
We continue our work with the All Party Parliamentary Group on Body Image in Westminster, advising policy makers on how to improve body confidence in the UK. And the ripple effect of our early work with industry can be felt strongly still, in the imagery from brands like Marks and Spencer, whose ‘Britain’s Leading Ladies’ campaign is just the latest triumph in their history of supporting the All Walks’ philosophy.
It’s so exciting to have the value of our message, and the efforts of all those who support us, recognised through this nomination. We would love to make it into the final 100, to spread our philosophy even wider, to announce to even more people that, no matter their age, size, shape, ethnicity, ability or gender, fashion as an expression of individuality, personality and creativity is something that they can be part of.
Our listing is about half way down the page, with the headline: Debra Bourne, Erin O’Connor & Caryn Franklin.
