The message of All Walks is also noticed by national icons, psychologists, psychoanalysts, politicians and eating disorder charities.

Politics
“I am delighted to be working with All Walks Beyond the Catwalk as part of my work on Body Confidence. It is an organisation which has the capacity to make a real impact on the fashion industry.
We recognise that there is huge pressure on people nowadays to conform to very narrow ideals of beauty, which can contribute to low self-esteem and eating disorders. All Walks’ work is playing an important part in broadening beauty ideals and encouraging diversity and individuality.
I am working within government to look at what can be done to tackle this problem, and All Walks is offering their expertise in those discussions.”
Minister for Women and Equalities, Lynne Featherstone (2010 -2012)

“At a time when more and more of our young - both female and male - are suffering from a lack of self-esteem regarding their body image, All Walks couldn’t be more timely. Promoting healthy body imagery, as well as encouraging and promoting more diversity in the fashion industry are vital for a healthy society. That’s why All Walks Beyond the Catwalk is such an essential project.”

Model Services
“As a psychologist and former international fashion model I am fully aware of the impact media images have on the deepest level of our psyche and as a consequence on our wellbeing and behaviour. I applaud Caryn, Debra and Erin for devoting their time and energy to celebrating diversity and individuality in fashion, for women to feel entitled to be themselves to the fullest and be proud of it”.
Adriana Giotta BSc (Hons), MSc (Psych), Psychologist, MBPsS

Body Image Charities
The Succeed Foundation has a unique approach. We work with academics and scientists to deliver evidence-based preventions and tools to support people with eating disorders, their carers and their families. We are excited to be backing All Walks and their efforts to celebrate and promote diversity in fashion and modelling. We support their drive to challenge the ideals that define beauty and see the potential for positive impact on the fashion industry and people’s lives.

“We welcome the fashion industry’s engagement in the All Walks campaign. We have been delighted with the energy, enthusiasm and dedication that so many people have already given to this project. We know that fashion doesn’t directly cause eating disorders – they are much more complex than that. Through our dialogue with the fashion world, we want to make this point clearly. Young people are inspired by fashion and influenced by its ideals. By offering up these wonderful images of diverse beauty, we know that fashion’s influence beyond the catwalk can be seen as a positive force in young people’s lives.”

The All Walks campaign represents true diversity in the fashion industry. Gone are the days where body image was just weight related, and after starting the countries first charity in relation to Body Dysmorphic Disorder, I know that self esteem problems occur across a broad spectrum of men and women. We see clients with skin, hair, height and feature specific problems. I would love to think that one day, it’ll be widely accepted to see people who are from varied back grounds walking up and down the catwalk. Every single day we see about 3000 advertisement images, and of those images I’d feel so much more empowered knowing that people from different ethnic backgrounds, disabled people, different generations and curvier people were given the chance to be a part of the fashion industry. I applaud the work of All Walks, as I feel its grown amazingly to spread the word of diversity.
